The Bag O’ Nails wasn't always a pub; In 1861 it was occupied by Thomas Emmery, a plasterer.  Its postal address was formerly given as no. 25 Woodwell Crescent, St.George’s Road.  Woodwell Crescent is no more and appears to have become a part of St.George’s Road.
